You guys keep any of the old school amps from them around? Like the VLX-400? Wasn't there a VLX-800? Or was it the US-800? My buddy had a 400 running on 8 8's. Was pretty cool but totally destroyed his electrical. I am running an older U.S. amp on my jl 12w3 but to be honest I couldn't think of the model if I had to (its been that long since I have had to mess with it). 300?

99% of the time in electronics "new and improved" means we found a way to make it 50% cheaper and added bling bling that cost 5% more so overall the company just saved/made 45% more than they would have with a good design / product and figures the extra profit will make up for the increase in rma's / warranty work that the cheaper parts they used internally and externally will cause.

And yeah I will keep my usa 100, 200 and 400 "wish I would not have sold my vlx400 years ago! man she was a brute, all 44" of her!

I predict that the older US amps will be a really hot item on ebay as soon as the die hards see this new stuff!!!

dats true man... but they are still using the same stuff from florida right now, which means its still the same quality, just different heat sink.

Tell your uncle to go back to the cnc'ed sinks and stay with the same boards and he may have a chance with the company... He needs a new design guy or whatever you want to call it and not the teenage bling bling or wannabe hip marketing guy he hired that used to work at pyramid or audiobahn.. Us amps was desired for a reason.. I cannot see anyone drooling over one of the new ones like they used to the old versions. In short change can be good in allot of cases... but this is not the case.

ya its not a gold amp lol its silver. but wat mike stated is true...you get the hardcore pple with the internals, andyou get the hip hop wannabes with the blingy stuff.

I do not want my trunk to look like a circut city sound room with flashy lights, chrome and fake carbon fiber. Anyways yeah they will sell to more people, for more young people and women like the ghetto flashy chrome items.

meh i guess it always just comes down to taste, i agree id rather have an amp that looks more plain (old us amps/orions/blah blah blah) than one thats all sparkly and shiney, but hell if it does rated power and sounds awesome id buy it
