Guts still look decent but sorry I would never buy a friggin amp that has fake carbon fiber on it... The looks have gone to hell in my opinion and everything us stood for is gone. Sorry but I have used and delt with us amps since the mid to late 90's. That is why everyone loved us amps, simplicity, bullet proof design and no frills or bs looks. Just military spec guts and smooth machined billet exterior looks. Hopefully they still have the bullet proof design but have gone gay ghetto bling bling to me.

The low end merlin series still looks good but they could do without that audiobahn style raised ghetto logo. Would be way better if they went back to the laser etched logo.

Sorry to be a hard @ss but I was really hopeing to see us amps stay in the "elite" category of desired amplifiers. Now they look like any other peice of crap off the shelf of your local low end car audio dealer.

You guys keep any of the old school amps from them around? Like the VLX-400? Wasn't there a VLX-800? Or was it the US-800? My buddy had a 400 running on 8 8's. Was pretty cool but totally destroyed his electrical. I am running an older U.S. amp on my jl 12w3 but to be honest I couldn't think of the model if I had to (its been that long since I have had to mess with it). 300?

Justin

I do have to say so myself,I used to love the older US Amps,Ive used the B-52,50HC,US50,US200,and the B-100,I just love the old look, even the older Merlin amp were nice, now they look like JL amps without the cooling fins.....I wish they wouldve kept the old look, now I have to look on ebay for old US Amps.....well,they do still look the same internally, maybe Ill give them a shot.........I just hope that US doesnt end up like Soundstream..........
