I'll be the first to admit that I've experienced some dumb ****ing marines in my tour, but to relate these two morons to our entire brach is utterly retarded. Sorry army/navy/air force guys, but you will not find a more dedicated group of individuals than the US Marines. I dare you to stand toe to toe with even a 70 year old marine and tell him that hes a piece of shit cause you'll get your *** beat to a pulp *****. Your at a loss of words...seriously.

Though you do have to pay for taxes, when a medical visit is necessary, at least it is covered and you don't have to worry about some lame insurance company not covering the cost and then you end up dying.

Their system is good for some things, but I prefer our privitized system.

In Canada if your condition is not serious it could be five MONTHS before they even see you. It sounds good, but it is a lot different on the inside.

In my experience I have not known one person who went into the Marines that deserves any respect. The ones I have known didn't go into the MArines to defend our country or freedoms, they joined to "kill me some towel heads" that along with this drives my feelings towards them.

see my experience has been completely different. im friends with 2 marines (one in iraq now, one already served) and 2 army (both served in iraq) and all they want is to be treated normal. they say there is nothing more annoying than the constant thank you's they get from people, and the congratulations for making it home safe. they appreciate it but they feel no better than anyone else. to them, they were just doing their job.

i forget who said it about the marines he knew that were freaks and weirdos but honestly alot of people that go into the military are either from military families or freaks and weirdos that dont have direction in their lives. my friend whos in iraq right now constantly stayed depressed, was going no where in his life and he joined the marines. completely different person right now. assuming he makes it home from iraq it probably saved his life. some people need direction and discipline that they either couldnt learn or didnt get taught by their parents growing up.
