US Amps or JL?

If you had to choose between a US Amps 2000x, or a JL 1000/1 which would it be? Money or system design is a non-factor. Deciding factor would be based on sound quality & SPL.

I'm asking because I went to the last local shop I ALMOST trust for advice, and they dogged my 2000x and said the sound quality was crappy. They advised me that JL 1000/1 was much better in the SQ department! Of course they are a JL dealer. This is the first bad comment I have heard about US-Amps EVER! LOL @ an amp that produces SQ!

Go for the one that fits your budget.

SQ is subjective to everyones ear. What sounds good to you, may sound horrible to someone else.

US amps all the way. They sound much better than JL

But seriously, I don't like the JL's for that stupid RIPS system that regulates the output to be the same (or very close to the same) at all impedences.

US Amps for sure, they dogged ur amp to sell u somthing else for instance the shop near me ( pacific stereo ) when i called them and asked if they could get imagedynamics they told me those dont sound good only there only for spl and to get JL there better. Told the guy he was an idiot.

yo go tell them to bench test that *****. I am wiliin to but up my jeep on dubs with an $13000 dollar tv installed. That ur US amp will smoke that jl amp. I am striaght up serious on that.

I'm glad I have some supporters on this one. This is my first "real" system. Meaning no Circuit Shitty or Goof Guys. I spent countless hours researching, demos at shops, & shopping online to get what I felt was best for my budget. I know what I hear! And what I hear in the cab of my F-150 is some LOUD, CLEAN, ACCURATE bass. The dual 1ohm 15" XXX lives in a 5cu.ft enclosure tuned to 28hz. I braced it very well. Just incase it ever run across a tank!!! This along with the USA-2000 is a SQL wet dream. It is the one part of the system I am completely happy with. And this guy tries to cut it down.

Well I guess thats it for asking opinions from shops! I read about this type of crap happening to others. Plus all I wanted to know was if they had RTA/Scope equipment for setup. Good thing he has never even heard of RE, cuz you know how bad there products are compared to JL!!

Well...it's in their nature to knock products they've either never heard of, or do not carry. They're a JL dealer, of course they are going to be ignorant and try and win you over...

Well I DO like the JL slash series amps. I have a 300/4 running my fronts. At the time I bought it I was looking at Arc Audio, USamps(tu-300), Zapco, and JL. When the right price came along the JL was left standing. It wasn't really my first choise, BUT for the price it was a no brainer.

Yes I would love to stick his face on my XXX and hit the volume. Now that would be a slap!

i like jl alot, but i know better when i see it. the us amp is one the best if not the best amp out there. if u are going to spend money then that is the amp of choice to me!

I would go with US Amps, of couse the shop will try to diss your equipment to try and sell you theirs. SQ from an amp... I don't think so. Just get whatever fits in your buget, or whatever brand you like the best.

My experience with the 2000x

Two 12" infinity perfects in sealed enclosure - Result was great sound untill I melted the VC's. Of course there rated at 350rms each. I was feeding them 1k a piece. Lasted about a month.

Next up Polk Momo 2- 12" each sealed in .7cuft. Now these were just to hold me over till my XXX arrived. These are my wifes subs so I was VERY gentle. Again the sound was impressive for the subs being used. In fact this was the most accurate sub setup I personally have had. I'm sure this was due to the .7 sealed enclosure and min. gain settings. Didn't get very loud but **** clean!

Then the XXX arrived and I am AMAZED at this beast. I was thinking 1- 15" vs. 2 -12" with same power should be about equal. NOT!!! The XXX destroyed all previous compitition.

And I have my crappy amp to thank for the journey!!!!!

some local shops **** arse period....my local RF dealer is a huge enclosure prefab (subzone/Qlogic) dealer and I was inquiring about some boxes as I told'm they were for Image Dynamics and Arc Audio subs and he looked at me like I was a jackass and said 'Never heard of em' - meanwhile he moves Punch Z's and HE's like they running out of style and swears by'm- A dealers opinion means shyt, most dont keep up with other than the brands they carry

i brought my local shop two arc audio 2500 cxl amps and a us amp HC100 the arcs hooked two jl audio 13.5 w7s and the us amp was for jl audios highs and mids... the whole time the salesman and the installer were telling me that the arc and us amp were just alright and that i need jl audio and how much better there amps were etc etc..... even after they were done installing every thign he still told me well if you are not happy with the arcs i can sell you the jls which will sound alot better

"We've never heard of Arc Audio. Did you get them from a Flea Market or somethign? They sound like crap. What you really want are these Crunch amps over here, 1000w max power will sound a lot better than those no-name amps you have now."
