On thanksgiving i talked to my uncle.. hes like... yeah i got a job at ups partime.. im riding on the truck... how in the hell?! i thought it took years to get on a truck... hes not a driver he just helps deliver the packages i guess... ive gotten alot of packages from the UPS and ive NEVER seen but one driver.. there has never been two people on a truck. im just wondering how he got on a truck so easy.. i thought u had to do handler then work up to even getting on the truck.

I got some packages yesterday from UPS and there were two guys. One drove and the other brought the packages to my door.

I think during the holidays they do this. One of my friends did it a few years back, its just a seasonal thing.

fedex does it sometimes, least the one here does on it's routes.

one drives the other takes the stuff to the person.

good/easy pay from what I heard. I was going to work at fedex unloading packages and loading them into the trucks.. but i refuse to take out all my piercings, too hard to put the ****ers back in by myself lol.

It's called a 'jumper' and yeah it's mostly seasonal. Sometimes i do it at fedex to help out a driver with alotta packages, and he'll just pay me like 50 cash for the day. Makes the driver's day alot shorter because the other guy can have boxes ready before they get there.

oh ok, i just have gotten alot of packages and never seen the helper on the truck... guess its different in different areas. but yeah he said it was just for the holiday that he probably would be let go before Christmas..
