Unemployed

I got laid off july 7th last year and video games got boring. I played a while and even stopped TKen then got my rank up to about 500th in bf2 but quit playing. I now am gardening a bit out in the yard enjoying taking car of a new puppy ever other week when my mom drops her off. **** is boring to me since I used to sell it and the only ones that interest me are octopus/squid or other seafood ones. I went to a bunch of union classes to try to network for more jobs but it was depressing with meeting all the other 50-100 people that went to an interview for the one job that was open. I may go back to more classes soon and get a couple more certs for piping. Medical gases may be good certs. I am sooooooo bored sometimes I just go outside and dig holes in the ground.
hahahahahaha OMG that made me laugh so hard.

Honestly don't see what is so hard about getting another job........hell my wifes mom found one that pays as well as she was making at her old job and it took her 3 days.........she is 55 years old and over weight, but is a hard worker.

I understand some people make more on unemployment than they would at another job, so if that is the case, I kind of understansd.

Do work son!

Well my old job was 15.00 an hour I make 760 dollars every 2 weeks on unemployment, and right now I need all the money I can get for my bills I am starting to get most of them paid off. So I have found jobs but not paying anywhere near what I use to make.

I just enjoy the good life and collect my unemployment check...its more than I made working anyway...I just have to call in everyweek and let them know I have been looking for jobs....I go through a phone book and give a few business names to them and collect my check //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

When I was unemployed for like a year after Katrina down here I didn't have to give any job names. Just call in every Sunday and BAM 273 bucks.

That mighta been a special deal though at the time

I don't know, just would think they would make more an effort to check on people and see if they are making a valid effort at trying to get a job, instead of tearing out pages in a phone book to call in........

I also thought you only had so much time, which is quite a while to find something and if you didn't, you get less money or you stop getting money.

I don't know, because I have never had to be on unemployment. I lost a job, I went and got another one within weeks.

I've been unemployed since January...and as far as I know they don't check anything...as long as i get my check...i don't care what they do...

It completely depends on your demographic and the employers that claim to be hiring. If you ask around for jobs, search online, or anything you'll be bombarded with available jobs. The problem is, employers are listing these jobs and are not following up on the applications. Perhaps because they are overwhelmed by the responses that they are getting. The other problem is that there is a rise of scammers and MLM schemes trying to take advantage of the unemployment opportunity to push their businesses and products. Weed out those and your available jobs drop to about 20%.
