underpowering?

Well, it all depends on how much power you have from your reciever. While it's not bad to underpower, you have to have enough power to move it.

Another thing, it's not a good idea to have a full-range signal going to it. Make sure you have installed an inline lp filter, or if it's already a sub out from your reciever then you would be fine.
