So today i turn my car on and wham drive for 2 minutes and battery light goes on. Turn it off, bust out the dmm, Check my batt, its at 10 volts. I go WTF! Go to check my alt to find that the positive wire was corroded, and cracked off, Probably hanging on for dear life for a week or so and finally gave out today. My dad goes to reattach it and can not bust the bolt on the tower. It was pretty rusted and would not budge. Bolt buster wouldn't even bust it. So he tapped into the side of the wire and reclipped it. Found that it's charging weird. Dropped my bat on the charger put it back in, It stays constant about 12.5 volts.... It used to be at 14.95 constant. So like wtf. He thinks when the wire was hangin on it may have been coming connected and disconnected and may have messed up the way the alt charges. I told my dad to try and attach a larger wire because the way he did it it might not be getting enough pull of current making it charge irregularly. Im going to try to get it to the zone tommorow and have them test it..

If not im gonna try to talk him into a high output, cause if you order it its the same price as the oem.

Anyone know if these alts are any good?

Claims 200 amps, wondered if anyone ever used one. And then again, i wouldn't wanna get screwed. Can't believe this crap is happening. I was hoping he would reattach it back to the tower and get that dam bolt off so i could finally do the big 3 with the 0g i bought like a month ago, but he didn't use the tower. So deep down i kinda hope the alt is toast, but i don't really feel like spending the money on it, cause i have none.
