The reason i say to leave the subs hooked up is so you can hear any distortion on your way up to your target voltage. Now if you cant reach your target voltage(say you can only get to like 50 volts before you hear audible distortion) then either the subs cant handle the power or your amp wont do the rated power or you cant supply the amp enough power. what voltage rating is the amp rated at for 2400 watts? if its 14.4 then the amps not gonna do the full 2400 watts.. if you need me to explain anymore then just shoot me a PM. i am only online at night though so it may take me some time to answer back. also make sure you get a good DMM, dont geta el chepo because itwill be wrong most likely. i bought a elcheapo and it didnt read right so my readings were off alot. If it were me with your electrical dropping as low as it is your probably never going to get up to 69 volts. dont be surprised to find out that you get maybe at best 1500 watts out the amp before distortion.

[QUOTE="liftedcj7on44s, post: 3072840, member: 575614"] ok so if the amp is rated at 2400rms@ 2ohm then you would see 69.28 volts out of the amp. if you want to do the 2000@2 ohm then you need to see 63.24 volts out the amp. but you have to be careful and you need to know what clipping sounds like. leave the sub hooked up. set your H/U vol to the max vol. you listen too daily. with the gain on the amp set to its lowest setting, set your LPF and if you have a subsonic filer set them to where you want them. with a dmm on the amp slowly start raising the gain til you reach your target voltage. so raise the gain til you either get 63.24vAC(2000rms) or 69.28vAC(2400rms).
