Check to see if you have any fuse's on the back of the HU. Also make sure the ant is hooked up, and the ground is good. You may have to check and make a new ground. I would take the HU out and hook the power and access wire to the positive on your battery, and the ground wire to the neg terminal on your battery. This will if the HU powers up you know it is in the car, not the head unit. The reason the head unit was not powered or hooked up is could be tha the person you bought the car from wanted his radio out and put a broke HU in to fill the hole. If you bought the car from a dealer, I would take the car to him and tell him this. "you sold me the car and used the NADA value guide and raised the value of the car based on the car having a CD/AM/FM/TAPE (which ever one you have) and with that in mind the NADA book calls for the HU to be in working order for you to use it. You can either replace the head unit, or refund me the difference in price from the NADA.
