two 12"s at 150rms each or one 12" at 300rms

i have another question. i'm trying to figure out how i want to run this amp. kicker 300.2 it puts out 75x2 at 4 ohm, 150x2 at 2ohm, or 300x1 at 4 ohm.

basically i'm trying to decide on subs to replace my JLW0. i want clear but loud bass.

i have another post on which subs to get, but now i want to know which way is the best way to go to get the clearest and loudest bass out of this amp. SQ is more important than SPL.

should i go with 2 12" subs at 150rms at 2ohm, or would it be better to go with 1 12" sub and run it 300x1 at 4ohm.

basically i'm willing to spend $160 a piece for 2 subs or i could spend the $320 on one sub plus a box. i can get a decent pre-fab box for about $100 for one 12 so that would leave me with $220 for a single sub. If that isn't enough money to sound good then i could try to get a friend to build me a box for about $20 so i would have $300 for one sub.

any help with this would be appreciated. i've never heard a system with only one subwoofer before so i don't know what can be done. i've only heard 2 or more subs in a car before.

Hmmm, I was going to recommend you an Image Dynamics IDMAX...but then I seen your price range You could go with a Shiva, or maybe even an Image Dynamics IDQ.

PS: Some of the best systems(loudest/SQ) only consist of 1 sub.

One IDQ, good choice, did nto think of that one at first but yeah nice sub, it can take more than 300 though

How about elemental designs K series? they sell the 12" for $135
