No BP option on the Q's, otherwise it's not a fair comparison due to the extra cost on the Q's. If the Q12"s are stock, then they will run about 20 bucks more for the pair. The Q's are 1kw RMS and the ICON's are 900w RMS, so the KX2500.1 might be a bit too much for the ICON's. I will obviously set the gains correctly and not clip the hell out of the amp or anything of that nature.
The box is 4.5 cubes internally after displacement tuned to 34 hz.
I will get them in D2 and wire them to 2 ohms for the Kicker 2500.1.
I primarily listen to alternative and rap. I've got PRO60's up front with 300w per side to keep up with the subs so this isn't supposed to just get loud, it needs to sound clean and smooth while getting loud.
The whole car is deadened/closed cell foamed. This install has been in the making for a long time, and the only thing left to purchase is the subs.
What would you pick and why?
If you have other suggestions, I'm all ears, preferably in the $500 price range for both.
I've run Fi before, two 12" SSD's. They sounded excellent, but waiting for forever for an e-mail response from the guys at Fi because of so much business they get is pretty annoying, while I know the guys at SSA are very easy to get in touch with. I would hope I will never need to get in touch with them after the purchase but just in case, good customer service is always a plus so this is also a factor.
Thanks for your input.
