Turbostart Step Up Transformer

Charge 16v batteries off of a 12v alternator. 12v pos 12v neg and 16v pos is all that is needed to hook it up. Ive had this for about a year, but Ive decided to not do another big build so Im letting it go. You probably wont find another one of these since they are no longer made..so jump on it while you can!

$150 shipped

I will post pictures when I get home later today!

How exactly does this work?

Does it only charge at one or the other or can I hook it up and charge my 12 volt and 16 volt batts at the same time

It only requires power from your 12v batteries. Everything remains unchanged with electrical except this charges your 16v batteries with 12v power.

I used this setup to charge 4 16v turbostarts running 2 v4000XD amps.

English: The 12V side has 100 windings and the 16V side has 133 windings. So a H/O alternator putting out 300A on the 12V circuit. It will step down to 100A.

I think that's correct, I pulled those numbers out of my ***.
