Truth or not?

So today me and my friend were talking about how I wanted to get a new set of subwoofers. I said that i wanted 2 12" system. He said that 2 12" will be super loud and would rattle my car. Then he said that i should get just 1 12" or 1 15". He thinks that the 15" would be better than 2 12". Considering the same brand/type. Is this true? Can one 15" beat 2 12"?

one 15 will not be louder than 2 12s. Assuming that they are the same model and in the same type of enclosure. However, one 12 will still sound real nice in a car. If you have room, I'd go with the single 15" or possibly the (2) 12s. Budget and space plays a big factor on putting a system together
