when buying Amplifiers, you get what you pay for?

TRUE or FALSE? and why.

I understand overrated and underrated. but if two amplifiers' birthsheets have equal power... example 1500watts x 1 @ 4ohms.

Amp "A" costs $1000, and Amp "B" costs $1500. Do you get what you pay for? should I buy the more expensive one to be safe or should I buy the lesser expensive one cause theres no real difference?

Warranty, Customer Service, Parts used in the amps. There is a lot more to it than power ratings.

Some brand amps seem to last longer than others due to build quality. I think most anyone would prefer to have an eclipse amp as opposed to a hifonics amp that does the same amount of power if the prices were the same.

why because you like Eclipse? i'm sure not everyone would agree with you. Now say equally rated hifonics Vs. Zed or Zapco or Arc at same price at current build quality.....lots of hifonics on the shelf

Blue light up letters is always more powerful than red light up letters. Amps with silver inputs are quieter than those with gold. Those amps that have little rca covers(the red and white mouse condoms) are louder than those without them

I feel like I see a lot of threads talking about hifonics going up in smoke, but maybe thats because so many people run them. I always thought that Eclipse makes a lot better of an amplifier than hifonics but I could be wrong, I am basically a car audio noob.

The point I was trying to get across is that two amps may put out the same amount of power, but the one with better build quality could be worth the extra money because it is likely to last longer.

If that is wrong then let me know because I don't want to be one of those idiots that talks out of their *** and gives stupid advice.

you get what you pay for with most things... some amps tend to be priced vary high tho for getting so little. Also some amps are prices way low and there is a reason for this... In general the higher end brands will at least put out a good product to keep a good name.... the hi fonics vs eclipse thing.... shit if you would take hi phonics over eclipse of the same power and price your smoking some big crack rocks... Not that eclipse is known for great amps or anything they just dont put out shitty product...
