True Bass 8

I just picked one of these up on another forum:

Now, I have some decisions to make. I am hoping it will do all right in my old 10" subwoofer enclosure that is 1 cubic foot tuned to 35 Hz, even though it was recommended that I go a tad bit smaller and tune the port a tad bit lower (.9 @ 33 IIRC). Anyhow, I am guessing that my frankenbox will be OK for testing purposes:

Power wise, I can't decide if I want to parallel both coils to run a 1 ohm load to my Lunar L1500 (conservative 500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm) or series the coils and use my JL Audio 500/1 v1 @ 4 ohms. I know the sub is rated for 300 watts RMS, but I am hoping that 500 watts won't be too overboard since my enclosure is a whopping .1 cubic foot larger than recommended.

People send those True Bass 8s 500 RMS all the time.

They are quality USA made drivers.

I had one with a Screwed up cone and suround and was going to recone. And ran 800w to it free air and it never blew. Sounded like s@#$ but never blew.Go with the 500w

I know 4 ohms sounds better than 1 ohm so id run it on the JL

that box is going to be bad 8;1 ratio if off bigtime. build a new box and make the net smaller and try a 3" aeroport..
