Ed Reed is still the standard at the safety position; however Polamalu has broken the top 5 at his position and will be heading for the #1 spot.

edit.. to be honest I'm rooting for Pittsburgh but Ed fawking Reed is just a badass. Every Broncos fan always wishes we drafted him.

To be honest arguing over Reed, Polamalu, and Dawkins is like choosing between Ferraris and Lambos. There are 27 other teams in the league jealous of having one of these safties and Palamalu is the youngest so that counts for something.

I will def agree that Polamalu is better against the run, but simply what Ed Reed can do with the ball once he picks it gives him a slight edge.

Both of them are leaps over the rest of the safetys in the NFL
