Yeah, some Treo CSXs have pole vent and no pole vent - one is for SPL only and one is usable for daily, that's what I've heard. I don't know anything about the magnetic flux or efficiency.

You are looking at 1 Treo CSX 15 quad 1.5 that I have for sale with minutes of use . This sub was custom made for me in '02 and is different from other CSX produced as there is no vented pole piece. What that does for the sub is strengthen the magnetic flux and greatly increase the efficiency.It is in near perfect condition except for the small hole that I have drilled dead center of the dust cover. The hole keeps the dust cover from being ejected or ripped off during high wattage bursts (like 8-10 kw).

Not having a vented pole piece will increase B in BL because there is more material in the gap, IE B=Magnetic Field, I'd say it'll increase flux, and motor strength, dunno about the efficiency thing though.

And the dust cap thing, could be true, but there would have to be a lot of pressure under it to cause it to come flying off...my guess is that either him or an idiot friend put a hole in the dust cap and he's just saying that to make it look purposeful.

What I meant by my first post is I have no clue if this guy is just full of it or if there is some truth, because I have never heard of it, and I would like to know if its true or not, all in the cause of learning more.

Think - RE MT

Dustcaps do tend to pop off when there's so much pressure.Hence the reason for the pole chamfer in the BTL's.

So I'd say it's probably safe to say he's telling the truth.

Never heard of it happening, but I don't pay much attention to things like that, so I'm sure it's possible just never seen any cases of it happening.
