Dodgers had the worst off season in the majors. So no one will have a problem with them this year.
Just look at there roster. Picked up
Danys Baez(Good reliever)
Brett Tomko(Good innings man)
Nomar Garicaparra(Former MVP)
Rafel Furcal (Allstar)
Sandy Alomar Jr(Great catcher to learn off)
Bill Mueller(Former batting champ)
Jose Cruz Jr.(20 plus homers most years)
Kenny Loften(what cant you say great about this guy?)
I don't question the pitching moves the Dodgers have made. They have always had good if not great pitching. Its run production that hurt them badly last year and it will hurt them even worse this year.
Nomar - OLD and is not even a fraction of the player he was 5 years ago.
Furcal - This one puzzles me since they already had one of the best shortstops in the NL last year with Izturis. Maybe one of them could move to 2nd or something but then where does that leave Jeff Kent.??
Alomar Jr. - Good baseball guy but he won't produce much as far as numbers are concerned.
Mueller - he was a batting champ in Boston because he hit behind that great lineup they had there, not so sure he can do that when he is a key guy in a lineup batting 3rd.
Cruz Jr. - They actually picked this guy up last year and I do like him alot. He's a team player and seems to be one of the most consistent bats in the lineup.
Lofton - well.....................he's old. I've seen this guy move around alot in the past 4 or 5 seasons and hasn't really produced in any of them except for last year in Philly. We'll see if he has any gas left in the tank I guess.
All in all, they have the pitching to do alot of damage but it will be the bats that put them over the top if they're going to succeed.
