Trade Tattoo Work For Car Audio

I don't at the moment. I don't tattoo, I did piercing for a while. Needless to say, I have many friends who are artists/shop owners, so I usually hit the bigger expos around here, and fly to the good ones when I can.
Ah I see. I've done some piercings for a bit, but it got really boring really quick.

Yeah, I have a lot of friends that tattoo and they are trying to help me get into the business, but if that doesn't work I'm going to school for painting and sculpture anyways.

im fully sleeved man and i know good work when i see it... yours look uhm not good.. i hope youre lookin to trade for funky pups and kraco amps cause thats what that tattooing is worth and thats givon the benfit of the doubt.. you shouldnt be behind a needle my friend... the truth hurts. sorry.
Just because you're "fully sleeved" doesn't mean you know good work when you see it. Just because you can get tattoos doesn't mean you can spot quality. I'm fully sleeved as well. Well, more or less body suited //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif but I like to think it's being in the environment of working in a shop and expo's that gives someone the right to judge at all.

As for the OP.. Everyone starts somewhere. I wasn't knocking your work, just saying I wouldn't advertise just yet.

If it does work out for you, it's good to have art in your history, or a strong interest in it at the very least. Good for you.

As for piercing, it can definitely get boring. Gotta mix it up -

Edit: Pics aren't working. I'll get them up later...

Agreed. I can't recall how much time I've spent in shops just watching the artists as they do their magic. One of my favorite things to do is hang out at my buddoes shop, and help when I can.

I personally would hone your drawings skills to see how things are supposed to look like with light and such on them, and work on keeping a steady hand. Alot of your shading is really chunky and one shade instead of a gradual tansition, and your lines are really shaky.

Like I said earlier, everyone has to start somewhere, but I would just keep working at it if I were you.

Yeah, art has always been my passion. I don't know what could replace it.

I'm hoping it does work out, tattooing is something I've always wanted to do, and it doesn't hurt that when you get a decent clientele, you start to make bank haha.

You guys are all pretty funny, especially the people that put up the art work that costs $6000+

Give me a break.....

As for Hep C and all that, everything I use is sterile right out of the pack with machine socks to cover the machine.

I want any one of you to go to a shop and say "I'll trade you my Pioneer deck for some work" you'll end up getting laughed right out of the shop.

I never once claimed to be a professional artist, what you see is what you get, I didnt try to pull any B.S.

All the Black & Gray is on myself, done by myself.

I did the flames/piston with a homemade gun and just picked up a regular set 1 week ago.

I am just beginning and these are the only tats I've ever done so that being said talk all the smack you all want.

From what I read it doesn't look like any of you sling ink so it seems you are being a little judgemental without having "ANY" skills of your own.

I charge around $25 per hr trade value compared to shops which average $80-$120 per hour money only.

Also the main thing is "TRADE" so like I said roll on down to your local shop and take them a set of 6 1/2" coax's and see what you get.

NADA........

So if anyone is interested in getting rid of any equipment they have and want a tat, hit me up.

Not like I'm saying I want a set of Utopias and a Butler tube amp for any of my work, though if you wanna I'll take 'em.

True that. Good luck with everything. If you find yourself in the area for an expo down the line (Boston, Manchester) Let me know ahead of time and i'll pull some strings. If you're tattooing, I know a few guys who usually have open booths for temporary artists. Providing their work is quality, of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

1. You never stated a price, or what your work was worth.

2. The back piece I posted (full back, 2 artists at the same time, with 15's in their guns) took 6.5 hours. I believe that is a little over a tenth of the price you assumed.

3. As I said, I wasn't knocking you. Everyone starts somewhere, everyone needs practice.

Oh and, just for the record. I have done jobs for different friends of mine (artists) in trade for chair time. They never once laughed when the offer was brought up. In fact, almost half of them initiated the deal.

1. All of those tattoos I posted cost less than $1k

2. Every single tattoo artist I know is willing to trade ink for something that interest him.

3. I have spent more time in a tattoo shop than you have in the little boys room, so I think I might now what I am talking about.

4. I never knocked you, I was giving you tips.

5. I don't care if you are beginning, at least take some pride in yourself and strive to do an actual decent tattoo, instead of the scratcher shit you are throwing out.

6. Are you licensed? Do you know that it is against the law to tattoo without a license?

I could go on and on......

Thank you for bringing up the points I somehow forgot to mention.

for one you have to be good artist in the first place to be a good tattooist... as for being under the gun for more then 50 hours i have some not so good work. work thats been touched up and corrected. work thats been done.. seeing as how i have this and have utilized my body a canvas nd have both good and bad work i think it qualifies ne to judge whats good and whats not.. jus cause u hang out at a tattoo shop and think youre cool for doin so doesnt mean you know dick about dick. so u took out the garbage few times and shaved a few clients..

I think you're misunderstanding.

I wasn't really saying you don't have the right to judge. I was saying full sleeves doesn't mean a person can judge. As in, I have met my fair share of sleeved up meatballs who can't spot dick. I wasn't saying you have no right.

And no, I didn't "hang out" at a shop, nor was I the shop bitch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I was an employee.

well most people that i know are extensivly tattooed.. people that have been under the gun for more thenthen your mere butterfly or tweety bird tattoo have had not so good work done and know what it looks like... point is 90 percent of highly tattooed people know good work from bad work... you like myself could walk into a shop. look at a portfolio talk to the artist and know weather or not you would get good work or shoddy work... nuff said...
