Hello,
My name is Liz and I work with the Rockford Park District issuing Special Use Permits. There is a noise ordinance on the neighborhood parks within the District and no music or noise is aloud due to the proximity to homes. There are large parks like Anna Page Park, 3102 N Springfield, Blackhawk Park, 101 15th Ave and Levings Lake Park 1420 S Pierpont Ave. at these parks we do issue Special Use Permits for music and other special events. The cost of the Special Use Permit is $40.00 and it will take a contract to be drawn out and you and/or your organization will sign off on. For this process to start we would need to fill out an application and have Park District approval on it. In the application we would as for details of the event such as estimated attendance and detailed information on activities for the day. If you would like to fill an application out please call our offices at 815-987-8800 and we will be happy to assist you.

Not sure if you guys are interested but this is an option. $40 isnt bad if we split it over a small entry fee.

Sugar Grove lets us use their parks for free and its in the middle of a cornfield so noise complaints is definitely NOT an issue. Plus rockford is WAYYYYYYYY too far away. You have to remember that most of us come from the chicago/northwest indiana area. Rockford is a solid 2 hour drive for most of us.

I doubt the first meet will be before april. Probably looking at may.

I'll keep you guys informed as soon as I can start getting shit together.
