To our Brothers and Sisters in Arms

This goes out to all of our brothers and sisters who are deployed and can't be home for the holidays, as well as all soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, reservists and guardsmen everywhere.

I'm certainly thinking about and praying for you guys to all come home safely and soon. I've been in your shoes and know what it feels like to be away from home and loved ones during the holidays.....i was in for 6 christmas' before i finally got one of to see my family.

My timeline

1990-Middle East

1991-National Training Center..Ft. Irwin, Calif.

1992-On patrol DMZ Republic of Korea

1993-Hospital..Mannheim, Germany

1994-Preparing for a night invasion of North Korea after they shot down a US

helicopter, killing one pilot and holding the other as a POW. Literally we

were 36 hours from invading N. Korea to recover our downed pilot. He was

released after 2 weeks of captivity.

1995-CQ duty on christmas night..Camp Bonifas South Korea

1996-First christmas home!!!!

1997-Last christmas as regular army, JFK Special Warfare Center, N. Carolina

So as you can see, i've spent my share of time away, and if it weren't for career ending injury, i'd probably be there with you. career ending=chronic migranes from '93 injury combined with severe back injury and bad knees and ankles from jumping out of airplanes. Back injury was the deciding factor tho

i got lucky, my airwing came back from deployment in june. if i was on the ship all my buddys are on, then i would be over in the sandbox somewhere.

and ill tell ya what, it really sucks being away from home for these big holidays all the time. luckily, i will be on the way home here in 10 days.

I have never served, and regret it. I thank you and all like you for supplying me and my family with all that we have, I am very thankful for those who are brave enough to fight for the many. To you directly and all like you that have had life changing injuries, may God give you strenght and bountiful blessings through out the balance of your lives.
