To much power?

Is 1200 watts to much power for pair of Memphis 15" PR's. Their rated 1000 total for the pair. I heard their very durable and also under-rated. Will be a ported enclosure in a durango.

wire it up and listen to it.. keep the gains low.. if the subs start distorting--you know you've gone too far

last time i checked memphis prs were rated at 250 each = 500w for the pair = either pay very close attention to what you are doing or get a new amp

Max ratings mean nothing. They are 250rms a peice. You will more than likely blow them with a 1200watt rms amp.

To much power for those subs , if you must use this amp set your gains very low.

just make sure they don't distort, then you're good to go

Just set it to the 1,000 watts rms using a DMM. I don't think an extra 200 watts is worth taking a chance of blowing the sub, you won't feel or hear a big difference.

too much power for them ported (if they are rated 250 wrms each...and assuming you are giving the pair 1200 wrms)

If you're saying they're "1000 watts" for the pair (which are max ratings for the record) then I bet your amp is "1200 watts max"
