to divide or not to divide?

hey,

I have a pair of 12's in my truck and I am going to build a new box for them. Right now I do not have a divider between the subs and they share the same air space inside the box. I was wondering if I should put a divider in the new box or not. Will it hurt the subs if I don't?

as long as the signal thats bein sent each sub is the same it wont harm your subs at all...and btw...sweet sweet avitar man...ooo so nice.

It won't hurt......but if you do put one in, make sure each chamber has the same amount of airspace......the only downside from not having one is if one of your subs blow.

Is it true then that I should make the air space in the box twice as big as it would be for one sub? Since there is 2 subs in the box that would make sense. But I didn't know if that was true.

Yes the total box size for both subs needs to be twice of what each sub would have if they were seperated.

It won't hit harder. The only benefits it provides is it acts as a brace, and will allow you to use one of your subs if the other one blows.

you have to make the air space for both subs the same...otherwise the will hit at different tones...correct me if im wrong but i believe i am right..
