hey every one i have a 92 thunderbird... i want to tint my windshield but can't seem to find any tint big enuff to tint it in one piece. I measured it and I would need a sheet of tint 30 inches by 55 inches. I searched and searched and can't find anything so I was wondering if its common for windsheilds to be tinted in two peices??? any tips are greatly appreciated

btw I have tinting experience, just never tinted a full windsheild before

They control the sizes of pieces for sale to prevent you from tinting your windshield. It's illegal.

It can be/has been done, but you'll most likely need to find a company that does direct sales, where you can buy big sheets before they're cut.

I only had 30% tint in my jetta, and even with that, i had to roll my windows down to back up after dark, having a tinted windshield is going to be a nightmare. Also, a) if you get into an accident you're going to be automatically at fault, b) if you get caught driving with your brights on, and they notice you have a tined windshield, you're going to be fuxored. And C) have you ever worn a cheap pair of plastic-lens sunglasses for an extended period of time? It causes some NASTY eyestrain. I would imagine looking through a sheet of window tinting would have much the same effect.

check with your local law enforcement before you tint a windshield. In My state you can tint the top and bottom as long as it leaves 18 inches of viewable space across the length (aka: the drivers line of site.) You would be crazy to do the whole thing anyways! What a ***** it would be to drive at night. Any FULL tint that MAY be legal would be so light, what would be the use? Check with The local Law or reputable glass shops before proceeding.

Not sure where to get it, but tint shops have them. obviously for back windows.

I have 5% on both my vehicles, and I hate backing up at night.

I thought someone had there windshield tinted on the site... had a maroon explorer...?
pimpedout97x or something along those lines.

EDIT: 9512ds beat me to it.

Any large window is hard. Get 2 ppl if you wanna try it. Gotta do it in manageble size pieces. Matching it up without a line isnt too tough either if you haev someone helping. Just make sure the piece above it (or below depending on where u start) is completely set, or when you squeegie the tint it may wrinkle the other piece.
