tint

I've been stopped for it a few times. Some shops offer a warranty where if you get a ticket for it they will remove the tint so a police officer can sign off on the ticket and then tint the windows again. I have this warranty and it has saved me a lot of money but if you don't want the hassle of having to re-tint windows somewhat often then I would stay away from 5% on the front windows.

I had 5 on the fronts, a very large strip on the windshield and a big black sticker under that, the whole rest of the car completely murdered out and i did get pulled over qiute a few times. but in the few years i had that i was only asked to remove it all once. I removed it showed the cops and went back to my house and retinted it hah. Definitely cheaper if you can do it yourself in case you have to take it down. I never received a ticket tho. Your best defense on getting away with it is to keep your eyes peeled and if you see a cop in the distance get those windows rolled down as fast as possible. It was quite funny because my windows were manual and i would be slammin both down as fast as i could at the same time when i spotted the fuzz

most of the time the cops would pull me over, see my wall and such and wed get in a convo about that and they would just say its probably risky having such dark tint

Yeah I got pulled over once and was told only the police are allowed to have dark tinted windows. Some of the cop cars aroud here look like their windows are painted black. Fugg 'em.

I've been stopped 12 times for tint. Last one I got a 90$ ticket but usually they just say take it off and bring it to the station and they will sign off on it no fee. Although I wouldn't suggest 5% on the front windows if you do a lot of night driving. Even 20% makes it hard to see out at night.

I've had 20 before and wasn't really happy with it. In full light situations you could see right through it. I might just settle on 10%, I don't draw any attention to myself. How's that 35% on the windshield treat you at night?

It's really good with HID's. Having 35 on the shield makes the side windows appear lighter so for me it's actually easier to see out of the sides when your shield is tinted.

The only time I had problems is at night with heavy rain. It has to be pretty **** heavy too, I don't have a problem at all with seeing really unless it's super far away at night. But it's not like it's really any worse, it's just because it's night.

Ok I have a couple more questions. If I get 5 over 5 in the back, will that make much of a difference when viewing other windows from the outside? - you know, less light being inside and all. Also, does anyone know if NC tint tickets are fines or fix-it tickets? I've pretty much decided on 15-20%% on the side windows and either a 5% strip on the windshield or 50 over the entire windshield.

I'm in NC and it all depends on the cop you get pulled by... or the mood he/she is in i should say. If you do happen to get a ticket, i believe they are $290... But all you'd have to do is pull the tint and it will get dismissed.
