Ok people so....i was drivin down the road and i was boomin and all the sudden whoop...no more boomage...ok so i checked all the wiring and was like oh **** this sucks....so i thought it was my RCAs going out earlier because even when my volume was turned all the way down my sub would still be recieving a signal from something...it wasnt music it was distortion...so i got new JL RCAs and installed them and still no sub...so then i took the sub out and soldered the tinsel lead back together...it still doesnt play...and it is DVC so it should have still played with the one tinsel lead broken right??? so wtf is up?? any ideas are helpful thanks

a wire goes from negative to positive on opposite sides then is hooked up to the amp from the existing positive and negative on opposite sides...its dual .7 so it should be wired at 1.4 how it is now

Try wiring only the coil that did not have a damaged lead up to the amp and see if it plays (free air it with a small amount of power.)

It wont play if one lead is disconnected because the coils are wired together in somewhat of a circle, you have a break in power anywhere and you lose power throughout the circle.

Cant really see tinsel lead where its soldered back together but i had a construction guy do it who lives next door and has been doing it for years it looks really good idk...

Well also i hooked it up only to the one that was working and nothing played...but when i had one in the hole and was touching the other one on it my sub made a noise...idk you think its not gettin a signal??

"One in the hole and touched the other one," what is 'one'?
It sounds like you have an amplifier problem.
ok so here is how its hooked up

[O] (that one has the wire in it)

[O](this is the one im touching with the wire and it makes the noise

yea i thought it was an amplifier problem but it is a brand new Orion HCCA-D5000...literally 3 days old...and the noise it was making while not having the volume up happened with my Powerbass XA3000 too...do you think the RCA output on my head unit could be bad???

hook a coil up to a 9V battery (quickly) and see if the cone jumps, then do it with the other coil.
if they move you know you have another problem.
ill have to do that tomorrow morning im goin to bed ill let yall kno tho

ok i put the 9V on my sub and both coils are ok and jumped...the esp goes off on the amp after a while does anyone know what the esp light being off on the new Orion amps means??? and i looked and cant find any fuses on it either...wtf should i disconnect all the power to hope it resets or something???

Do you still have your PowerBass amp? Try swapping them out if you do and see if it works.
yea i have the powerbass but it is broken thats why im using the Orion...im sending the powerbass in either today or next friday whenever i get paid so idk...when i installed it i couldnt fit all of the 0 gauge in the battery and ground terminals because they expect you to bridge off the o gauge to two 4 gauges i think because it has two power source things to plug in battery and ground to...think that has anything to do with it?

You do not have power and ground in both power/ground terminals? The amp was designed with dual 4 awg terminals, and needs to run with power going to both sets of terminals...
