So, as a few of you may know i got my hands on a 12w7 svc 3 ohm. I got a good deal on it, and i have it in my 2.2 cubic foot box tuned to 34 hz. It gets alot louder then the q and it does not miss a note. This thing makes any song have ALOT of bass. I have it hooked to a kicker zx1000 and i am way beyond impressed. I liked the Fi, but i have somewhat deeply always wanted a w7, even though i said they were overpriced.

heres the question, my friend at ccity was talking about mtx accomodations and we started talking about the w7 vs the 9500.

basically says that the 9500 is better then the w7, but i think that is very one sided.

So, in the same install, same power, similar box..what wins the battle. the 12w7 or a 12 mtx 9500

i think thats bull, if it were the 12w7 vs a 12 9500 the results would be a little different, plus they say jack about sq. and lastly they try to give JL crap for the way the w7 installs, im pretty sure if they wanted the w7 to install like a normal sub they could, but thats what makes JL unique is unique engineering. /thread

do you even know me? no, you dont, how are you gonna say im biased when youve never said one word to me and know im right. I have a personal opinion on whats good and whats not, and MTX audio has never caught my attention. I will vouch for other companies such as Fi and DD, just because all my shits JL doesnt mean I wont admit theres better stuff out there. Dont be jealous just because you cant afford all JL.

i will agree with ultimate, around here people will drop like 10k+ on an "all jl" system because they have seen it on unique whips, or their buddy said that it is the best.

myself, i learned from trying and in my car ive had the following brands

alpine

treo

memphis

kicker

Fi

JL W7 destroys them all.

so, fight on, but please at least offer somthing to the argument besides the price factor of JL

you cant rightly say that "jl destroys them all" as you have NO IDEA as to what others want... i personally do not like the way a w7 sounds (sounds hollow to me, in the 5-6 different installs i have heard with them) and as far as spl.... well lets just say i will GLADLY put my soundstream xxx's or my tc 5200's, or even my team rf's up against it ANY DAY... I am glad that you like your w7's.. i really am. but to say they destroy all- way off base...
