Those 'glory days' were akin to living in a frat house with no adult supervision. New members were run off, just for fun. Mods banned people for disagreeing with them in the tech section. People were banned because someone who won at 'hangman' didnt like them. Members were harassed and made fun of by mods (*** of the month award etc). Mod accounts were passed around to other forum members like a $5 whore. People were banned for posting in a thread that was claimed to be for OG members only. Stupid shit like that, daily. If you were part of the in-crowd, sure, it was glorious. For everyone else, it wasn't so great.

Yes, we had a lot of knowledgeable members back then. We have a lot now. The big difference I see in content these days is having less representatives from manufacturers here. It was nice being able to talk directly to Manville Smith from JL, or Tracy from Kicker/Stillwater. We still have some good ones however (like Sundownz for example), but the ones like Manville and Tracy who left, left many times because of the immaturity rampant in those 'glory days', not the other way around. We mods, and of course Goob, work hard to rebuild the reputation of this site as a car audio forum. It will come around. You are welcome to stay and participate, or if you are just this bummed that the partying has been stifled, there are plenty of other websites like CT.com that will appeal to you more. The choice is yours.

There were tons of new faces all the time and for the most part ct stayed out of general unless it was anewering legit questions. What happened was because some didn't play by the rules, everyone else thought they could as well.

Everyone once in a while go look and see what the first thread you made. After doing that, you are usually a lot less harsh on the person who asks whether they should get three 12's or two 15s.
