Thinking of competing in local dbDrag, few questions

Hey everyone,

So yesterday I found out that theres an upcoming dbdrag event pretty close to where I live. This is amazing because there are little to no db drag events in Quebec. Anyways when I heard about it, it got me thinking. I think I'll go compete in it just for fun and to see what kind of numbers I'm getting.

I wasn't sure if I would be in the Street Stock A or the Street A, I'm thinking of going in street A. I have 1 12" sub and 1 amp, stock alt and bat with the big 3. Would that be ok for Street A?

Also would I be aloud to drop down my rear seats to get acces to my trunk and turn my box around, port facing the inside of the car? Is that allowed and would it be benificial for my score?

Also do you think I will get destroyed, my system isn't really a competition set-up (1000Ws on a type-R ported)? The competition probably won't be too stiff so I think I'll do it for the thrill of it anyways.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I tested the seats down, port pointing into the car. It didnt seem to make much of a difference so thats not really an issue.

What about the rest, would I be OK in Street A?

Street Stock Division Passenger Compartment Restrictions

3-9a Nothing in the sound system may interfere with the normal use and / or operation of the vehicle in front of the B-Pillar.

3-9b Seats may be folded for competition, but may not be removed from the vehicle. Competitors who fold their seats must be able to demonstrate that the installation of the sound system does not interfere with the normal operation of the seats that were folded.

Contestants must play music when competing. Test tones (or songs containing test tones) are prohibited.

Street A most likely. But if you can get into street stock A too I'd do what ever class has the most competition just for the fun of it.

For sure run with your seats down and your front seats all the way forward. Do you have a remote to control from outside of the car? You'll probably need it. Also I'd suggest trying Bassrace. With your set up you'll most likely be in 0-129.9db class. It's a lot of fun. You can actually do both classes if you want. Make a day of it and have a good time.

Good luck and have fun.

in my experience i find that sub back port back to work best for a daily trunk car (im guessing it is a trunk car if not do not listen). and by daily i mean that there is no foam or anything that would seperate the front and back wave that goes into the cabin from the trunk.
