Thinking of chaning from two 10's too one 15- Need Input...

Hey guys, it has been quite a while since I posted and Im glad that there's still a place for us to come together and share ideas and thoughts. A year and a half ago I installed a system in my 330ci and for my bass I have 2 10" CDT HD1020's being run by a SoundStream VanGogh 800.2 amplifier. The subs are installed in a sealed box and I love the tight, responsive bass with this setup, however with all the wood and the two subs its really heavy and takes up quite a bit of room in my trunk; which I didnt mind at first but now Im thinking I want my trunk back. What I was thinking about doing is removing the two 10's and the box and installing a false floor and sink my new single sub down into the spare tire well.

If I do decide to do this I need to know if I should expect the bass sound to be any different from my current setup, what brands should I be considering, the price range of said brands, and what size- 12 or 15"? When making reccomendations please note that Im going to continue using my 800.2 amp, also that I think I should be able to give the new sub 1.25cu ft of air space. I appreciate all your help!

With only 1.25cuft of airspace, a single 12" would be your best option if you wanted to switch subs. That's not a whole lot of space.

What type of budget are you looking at?

1.25cuft is small for one 15

i would do as sqeak said..one 12 will be better suited for that box

Budget is around $150-$200 maybe more, but Im not really sure whats out there. Would it be possible for one 12" JL 12w6 or an RE or something on that level to match the bass that I have now?

For that amount of money and space you could do a RE SE 12 inch sub that costs under $200. These are great subs for the money and should get plenty loud.
