Thinking 44mag ultralite , any opinions ?

nah no safe queen for me , i wish i could afford a 500 , but the .44mag/.454 will do , the .45 is just useless past 75ft . the 44mag or .454 will still be well and acurate and do plenty of open field damage, of course i grab the .45 in the city, hydroslappers stop in the body and not three houses down. I would never buy a gun and leave it in the safe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif i buy a gun like a tool , for a purpose.

No you won't. A 44 mag ultralight? GTFO! Look at real 44 mag hunting guns by Ruger and Frontier Arms. They are big and heavy for a reason. Without the weight to absorb the recoil all that energy will be transfered into your wrist. You won't be able to hit shit with it and the recoil will be more than just unpleasant, it will probably damage your hand and wrist after the first few shots. Certaninly not something your boy is going to want to fire.

That's why it will become a safequeen. You wont' enjoy shooting it.

For what you describe I would suggest a Ruger GP-100 .357 mag 6" or a Blackhawk in .357 or .44. Those you will enjoy shooting, and the .357 you can afford to shoot.

nah, no ofense but i will shoot it more than you probly would , i dont have a problem shooting big caliber revolvers , actually probly get this 44mag , and i will be using +p loads . . i probly wont shoot over 50rounds a session so it wont be as bad as you think. I like the ruger gp-100 it is a nice gun and im a fan of .357 +p loads also no .38 shit but i have a ruger 22/45 my boy can learn on , im buying this for me. I head into the Sierra Nevadas fishing (way in) and there are alot of bear where i go also, so for my needs it has to be 44mag or better.
