first off, im not going with audiobahns sure their cool looking but over rated, my friends girlfriend has 2 12W7 hooked up to a 1000/1 amp, in a ported box, looks like 1.5ft3 per sub. mainly i just want to beat her out, cause she's one cocky lil s.o.b, next i have Two Kenwood KAC-9152D mono amps, that will prolly be wired to its own sub if i buy two, or i might just leave them as the mono drive setup and wire the two subs into them both. the amps put out 900 watts rms at 2 and 1 ohm, and 500 at 4 ohm, or if i leave them like they are in the mono drive setup then its 1800 rms watts at a 2 ohm load

Im trying to stick with one of these three brands because i really like how they perform and sound, not many people in my town have these subs, they are sportin some pioneers, lightening audio, Rockford subs, PG.

from the looks of the poll, it looks like Type R's would be better

I have not looked up the W7 specs, but 1.5 cubes per sub PORTED sounds a bit too wee small for a W7. 2 Type Rs are loud, in a friend's Accord in a 4.5 cubes box and it does its job at 1100 watts.

Your purpose is to solely out bang your friend's car. No one on here cares for that and you will just continuously get flamed.

When this forum gets a daily torrent of "I want to outdo my friend who has 3 RF Punch S3 10's on some Alpine amps he got from CC 2 weeks ago. My 4 XPlod 12's on a Pyle amp isn't as loud. He only has 3 10's and I have 4 12's and I don't know why I can't outdo him. Should I get some new subs or a new amp or both because lately I've been looking downwards and my penis seems really small now." type of threads, we're going to have some fun....

Now with that being said...

Out of the three listed in your poll, I'd go with the Kicker L7's to attain the most SPL I could (IMO they are the better choice).

However, there are many many many more suitable (IMO) subs available that will be a much better bet for trying to outdo your friend's girlfriends' JL setup.... we've listed numerous alternatives for you and even given the means to locate and aquire them.

I dont get how that isnt louder than some JL W7's with half their rated power in about almost half the ported enclosure size. Cone area? But still.

DEJAWIZ, thanks and i totally understand that the forums are flooded with stupid questions and such things like that, and that people get poked fun of, but it just kinda bugs me when simple questions from someone that doesnt have lots of experience get harrased and made fun of. it just doesnt seem right. A prime example of that would be the dick head named Dozy_production, with that ignorant comment about me only accepting as much information as my ignorance will allow, which is completely not true, because in a week im off to school for two months to Mobile Dynamics. Other than that i have 4 years of experience, maybe not as much as some.

How about before you spend another 200- 600 bucks on a new woofer... explore more options. Thats what i and everyone else was trying to say. Thats where the ignorant comment came into play.

first off, im not really name calling, im just revealing someones true personality. secondly i cant do the 2 15" routine anymore cause i did it with two MTX's and the space is just for sure not there, just to get a walmart dual 15 kinda box in the trunk i had to remove the trunk weatherstripping and straighten all the weatherstripping frame so i could barely get it in there.

Im trying to stay with 2 12" if i can cause i like the broad range of frequency and i can play more music with them, cause i listen to a lil of everything. Also this IS GOIN TO BE A DAILY LISTENER TOO, just to throw that out there.

She's the not stupid she knows a lil, but i think she's a lil not there in the head, cause her 2 12W7's are in a ported box, pushed by a 1000/1 JL amp in a 2004 Grand Am GT, and its loud, but poor girl is claiming she's hittin a 176 DB!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif And i may not be experienced a whole lot with the bass comps, but i know that your not hittin anywhere near a 176 with 2 W7's and even still, you dont want to sit in the car during it, cause 160 DB is the equivilant to 15K LBS of full boost from an airliner jet. Also she's the cockiest lil brat ive ever met, she think's her grand am is the hottest stuff ever, like she wont even pop the hood of her car to see whether its 3.4 or 3.1 or the ecotec, so i th ink she's just scared to show her stock motor.

So id like to at least hit a 150, sit her in the back seat, and pretty much make her go deaf as fast as possible. but yeah, i just want to shut her BS runnin mouth.

I was thinking of doing 2 12" DVC 2Ohm L7's or leaning more towards this 2 12" SSD12 or 2 12" RE AUDIO SE 12, everything in ported box.

Putting aside your immaturities, I would go with the l7's for that wow factor and from what ive gathered on this forum might have the spl advantage... as long as they are in the proper sized enclosure... tuned a little higher and are powered correctly.
