I'm gonna go to LA and mug a cabbie then get shot and realize it was teh Prowla

I pay the cab company a lease on the car 6 days a week. ($84 per day)

After paying lease for 6 days the seventh is an earned "free" day.

I do not get paid by the mile or by the hour.

I have to pay the aforementioned lease six days a week.

Everything I earn above and beyond that after buying gas (which these old P-71 Police package-equipped Crowns don't get the best mileage...) I keep.

Not all the cab drivers here are making as much as I am.

Some are making less.

Some are making more.

There is no guarantee that you'll make the first dime driving a cab ~ and the cab company doesn't care whether or not you do...only that you pay your lease in full and on time.

Like most all things else it's a hussle.

Edit: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, so like, you charge teh fegs that get on teh car by teh mile right....

From those earnings you pay teh lease and gas, then ya keep teh rest?

Correct.

The meter is showing $4.00 when you 1st get in the cab and includes your first mile of travel (if you go one mile or less the meter will never show anything other than $4.00)

Everything after the first mile is $1.50/mile or $0.25 every 1/6th of a mile)

Wait time (waiting on behalf of the customer such as at the grocery store, in a fastfood drivethru, etc) is $18.00/hour or $0.25 every 50 seconds)

Traffic jams, trains, and things of that nature that are beyond the control of the customer are not legal to charge for on wait time.

How long does it usually take you to make 86 bucks in a day?

If it is busy I can normally take in my $84 lease expense (not $86) in 4-5 hours.

If it's not busy? Well, then it takes longer, naturally.

They just called me to let me know my car is done - it was having overheating issues which is why I have been here posting today.
