Been doing a few installs on the side here locally for people more than a bit unhappy with the quotes they've gotten from local shops.

Being very happy with my D61500.1 purchase.

Since you're a bit of a DAT afficianado is it the D6 amps that do rated output at any voltage from 11vdc and higher or is just the D9 units? The reason I ask is because this Diamond amp is noticeably louder than my eXcelon monoblock was on the same sub. I swear it isn't just psycho-acoustics because I bought something new because most everyone that has gotten in my car since installing it asks what I did to the bass since it seems louder...

As she was my last remaining grandparent that was a grand experience. To tell the truth, though, the service was really nice and I got to visit with some relatives that I seldom get to see as they are spread all throughout the country so that was cool but the reason I got to see them could certainly have been more cheerful. Guess you gotta look for the silver lining, huh?

I recently bought myself a new cell phone because the Nokia 6225 (I think is the model #?) I had been using for better than 2 years finally took a complete dump on me - battery wouldn't hold a charge longer than 30 minutes at a time and none of the number buttons worked anymore - so I got myself a RAZR and a Bluetooth earpiece....both of which I like just fine. (Being able to tell the phone what number to dial without actually touching the phone is a nice touch of lazy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif)

I don't think the D6 has the regulation to put out rated power at all imp. or voltage. I bet its just plain louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

I didn't know. I know the DAT amps don't have the same output at any impedence like the Slash-series JL amps did but it seems I heard something about them doing rated power anywhere from 11vdc and up but perhaps that was only the D9 amps.

I'm not making mad bank on these installs but more and more people are finding it unreasonable that BB or CC or the like want $75+ just to install a HU! (which in most cases can be accomplished with a $20 dash kit and a $10 harness adapter and

Yeah, they have to charge that much to justify keeping the install bays open. They pay installers a fairly good hourly wage and they aren't booked 9-5 m-Sun. Plus the car audio sections take up valuable retail space on the floor.
