My Spanish teacher in high school was Mexican and apparently from a rather wealthy family down there. She took the Spanish Club, of which I was a member, on a trip there during Spring Break one year.

How long ago was that? I was wondering because I wanted to go to a place in Mexico this summer but I'm not going to have a lot of money because I am in the process of spending almost $2000 to fix my Explorer (head gasket went, long story...) Anyway, I heard that $300 or so can get you a long way (lodging, food, drinks, fun, etc...)
Any ideas on a place like that? I don't want to go to any "resort" type places or cities, just some cheap fun in Mexico.
