Every other week.

I felt really bad about 6 months back. We bought a new van (new to us, not "brand" new), and were joking about how we did everything backwards.....you know, had kids, then bought a house, then bought a van, then we're going to get married rather than the typical marriage/house/kids/van pattern. So then the whole "where is my ring at again" questions started arising, so I told her jokingly to just tell people we couldn't afford a ring after buying a van, so the van is our psuedo-engagement ring. Well, I was joking, she took it seriously and started telling people we were engaged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I still feel bad about it when she brings it up.

Dude ... I'm starting to think that you could easily get away with the single plastic diamond rings out of the little plastic bubble from those $1 machines ... or get one from the dentist.

The best is taking her to a ring store. Ask her to look at what she thinks is in your guys' price range. Laugh ridiculously hard and walk out.
