I'm more than a bit of a fan of sherbet of varying flavors, personally.There was this ice cream joint here when I was a kid called Swensen's.
One summer (and sadly one summer only) they had grape sherbet. Tasted exactly like Welch's purple grape juice turned into sherbet.

It was so popular that they couldn't keep it in stock ~ so oddly they discontinued it????
I'm no econ major but it would seem to me that if you have a product that sells so well you cannot make enough of it the smartest marketing strategy wouldn't be to eliminate a proven cash cow.
But that's just me, I suppose.
I would suggest it was corporate decisions such as those illustated above which led to Swensen's ultimate demise...
