You know....I feel so freaking old.....I'm starting to look into buying a *gasp* minivan for the wifey //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The day has come........

Now, I mentioned this to my dad today when I was there at lunch, and put him into quite a quanadry...which I know feel bad about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Back before my son and my niece were born (~1.75yrs ago), my mom talked my dad into getting a pretty nice Pontiac minivan so that she could carry all of her grandchildren in it (my sister and myself both have 2 children each...obviously for a total of 4). When my mom got off work, she'd go pick up all 4 grandkids from the babysitter and keep them till my sister and myself got off work, and on her days off she'd sometimes keep all or some of the grandchildren herself.

Well, now that my mother has passed away, my dad really has no need for the minivan (he'll likely never need to transport all 4 grandchildren himself). My sister had expressed the desire to get a minivan when she paid off here car early this year, and a few times she had mentioned this to my parents. In the past 3 or so months, my g/f has started talking about wanting a minivan aswell. I was only working part time because of school, so we never really mentioned it to anyone because it definitely wasn't going to happen until after I graduated (which happened in December).

My dad hadn't told anyone yet, but he was planning on trading my sister the minivan for her car (with my approval, but he didn't think I'd object because we hadn't really expressed discontent with our current vehicles) because they are approximately the same value. But now that he knows I am possibly looking into minivans aswell, he doesn't know what to do (since it's not really fair to give her the minivan when I want one aswell).

So, what do you guys think? Should I just give my dad the peace of mind (he doesn't need anymore stress right now, still sorting things out from my mom's death) and let him give my sister the minivan? I don't want to sound selfish, but it is a DAMN nice van, and better than most others that I could afford. But if I got it from him, then he'd have to look for a car to buy (nobody enjoys that process).....and I really just want to make life easy for him.

I dunno //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
