him (12:03:02 AM): rockford wiring. 4 optima yellow top batteries in trunk. 3 10" rockford punch stage 3. 1 1500 watt rockford stealth series amp. 1 rockford capacitor. alpine type s door speakers and rear panel speakers. alpine tweeters and an alpine head unit. thats all folks. i know what i read. i know what amps push what subs. i know statistics and i know the info that experts give out and their perspective. i dont go by all that ****. when you install you understand basics when you BUILD you understand more **** like that and i very highly doubt you build many amps or subs with your hands.

Me: ://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/REAudio/xxx12.28.wmvyes it would smoke my 10's in bass. but rockford punch is not for bass. its for quality. and yes a ported box is used to pump out the excess air from the subs. the air also adds bass but a ported box in a small area destroys sound qualilty and distorts bass. the air and sound waves dont work as one that is why you see ported boxes and slotted boxes in trucks the majority of the time. they sound and work in the atmosphere better than in a cramped trunk
