An "overshare" is when one person passes along a tidbit of (generally) inconsequential information that the person being told said information is completely and utterly disinterested in.

Additionally the person that the information is being shared with is normally in a position such that their current state of emotional well-being has been worsened by exposure to whatever knowledge has been imparted upon them.
