The SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G.. opinions & mounting help?

Seen someone on here suggesting them to someone else while back but i've since lost which thread it was in. I have seen a few people using them and wanting to know how they sounded/power they could take daily/overall loudness and any other things they'd offer to share.

Pics of them mounted would be a plus in your ride if possible as they said this:

"Seas does not make mounting hardware for this tweeter. The LPG tweeter mounts will work for this tweeter with slight modification. You will have to drill a couple holes through the back of the plastic mount for proper fit. Use an adhesive to glue the tweeter into the mount. The Vifa tweeter mounts will not work for this tweeter."

will they mount without having the mounting hardwire into my doors or will they simply fall out of them? This will be the first time I actually do any sort of fiberglassing/mounting of tweeters into my door that will not be going into stock location.

any help/opinions are appreciated.

I played with those tweeters about a year ago.

i would guess your'e going active???

which mids are you going to be useing with them????

the reason i ask is you cant cross those tweeters that low.

I blew two sets trying to get them to sound right for my taste.

you can search google to see how others have installed there tweeters useing cups, molds,etc......

unsure on the mids yet, was looking at the seas midrange 7" woofers but unsure on what I really want for straight mids.

any suggestions? considered whip audio 6.5"s but can't find a place that sales them.

Me i like more of a clean lower distortion tight midbass, with the upper mid to be more aggressive for the types of music i listen to.

look into hybrid auidio as well

will be out of my price range honestly i'm sure. one reason I was looking at the seas mids was the price, at 40-70 per compared to 6xx-7xx per pair of other brands.

looking to quantity in my next build.

couldn't find anything on the mounting for the tweets on google, they won't just push into spots I cut out for them in the fiberglass? gonna **** having to buy those mounts and modify each one lol.

will they fit into my doors without the mounting hardware or do i need to buy junk for them to fit in?

The 27's are good budget tweeters. I like them, but I'm not in love with them.

They do need to be crossed high, I can really hear them straining at a 2.5k 24db

slope. They sound better at 3.2k 24db; I would suspect they sound even better

still at 4k 18db; but I cannot go that high.

In fact I really want tweeters that can go lower than 2.5k now, I want 2khz capable

tweeters. These 27's are not a bad way to go until I can afford what I really want.

They are a perfectly natural stop-off on the road to SQ.
