**The MLB Thread**

yes those are huge numbers but it helps alot to be on a tear at home and go on the road with the bat still hot...im not tryin to take anything away from him but i feel if he played in a larger ballpark the entire season he would find more slumps and just an overall harder time.

hes been great this year and i cant sit here and say if this and if that but i would rather have a better all around player and sacrifice some of his homeruns for better plays with the glove

if the phillies make it then the postseason will be very interesting to watch with alot of young players who look like they could become stars and how they play in the postseason...mainly wright, howard, reyes, and i would even throw in john maine to see if his pretty good pitching in the regular season can carry over to the postseason.

Maine Im liking...El Duque is gonna come through....Glavine is a bit inconsistent, but he'll come through.

Are they bringing up Dave Williams again...cuz...Oliver Perez needs more work

Darren Oliver can also make his way into the rotation....he has been solid this year

990 fielding percentage, 14 errors he isn't terrible but he isn't spectacular. he's an average defender, but his minor short commings at 1st base are more then made up for at the plate

only 14 errors but having watched alot of his games and being to a few mets phillies games he just is very slow and seeming akward with the glove. if a ball is drilled to him his reaction time seems very slow and he does not look fluid on some of those odd bounces..but yes his platework is a huge makeup factor..just as long as he comes through in the playoffs and his fielding doesnt come at the wrong time

can't argue that one. jeter

jeter is overrated. looking at his stats he puts up good numbers and will probably get 3000 hits, but come on he is not god's gift to baseball. hell he is a michigan native and i still hate him

i am still in shock in what transpired at the tigers game. a blown 5-0 lead, 4 runs allowed in the 11th, why jamie walker was allowed to stay out there and give up 3 homeruns in the 11th, and all this happens against the last place royals
