The infamous W7

I think he is trying to say that at low volumes there won't be much of a difference, which is also wrong IMO
Yep, except its not wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The hype of the w7 is in its falt BL curve, even at high excursions. At low excursions, an L7 will have a **** flat one aswell, inaudibly different. Or atleast you wouldnt be able to point out the w7 as sounding better.

listen to the speakers instead of listening to dumbass's such as myself and squeak

I don't know this thread has gone to hell lol!

So I hope I like my w7's! lol

Besides those I don't know what else to buy for an SQ sub...I mean there is tons of hype about them so thats why I want to get them. I've also heard them and enjoyed them a lot.

there is alot but nothing wrong with your choice at all. w7 can get loud (if thats what you want) or when TURNED DOWN lol it has excelent sq but so do alot of the other subs basically boils down to how you feel the amount of $ you want to spend . other less expensive subs also work pretty darn good are xxx's idmax and so forth but you have expeirence with the w7 so it would be pretty pointless to "try something else" wouldnt you agree?

Just because an L7 is known to be only an SPL driver be many, that must mean it sucks at SQ right? Wrong. At SQ volumes in the correct install, even the best ears cant hear the difference between it and a high end SQ woofer, hence it has won SQ comps.
Actually, just because the L7 was in a winning install, it doesn't necessarily mean it was on par with the other subs at the show //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif It is entirely possible that the winning vehicle had the worst sounding subbass of the show. It is also entirely possible that the best sounding car at the show didn't win //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So, to use that as a basis of assumption doesn't really prove anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

if it had bad anything in the speakers it would toast everything else. poor subbass can draw out other weaknesses in a system. it would be really hard for a vehicle that wins to get a 5 on subbass then get a real high score 70+ on tonal accuracy. a 70+ is usually what wins or to even be considered at least by the old iasca score system

But you have to agree.....given the other judging criteria (SPL, install, etc), just because a car won, it doesn't mean it had the best of everything as far as SQ is concerned.

to a dgree but on the old score sheet you follow the install guidelines thats the easy points everyone on that level will be within 5 points. more than half of your car's score is based on how it sounds either staging or tonally. alot of green eyed people will say such and such about a winning car. to get to that level to win a major to come out and say "that sounds bad or not as good" means whoever said it had technical trouble (that dont happen to often and shows on the score sheet dnf) or they must have had a really really bad install or theirs wasnt that good sounding either. at that level you are going against the best not billy jo jo bob down the block.
