The Greatest of All Time

Lovely human being.What a beacon.smh

You sir, are correct. But after he retired he stepped away from the nation of islam, and those beliefs. He broadened his horizons, and opened his mind, and became a better person because of it. During those times it was difficult, having main stream society telling you that as a black man, you were less than HUMAN. So I will mourn his passing, and allow you to have whatever opinion that you wish to have.

It's not an opinion sir.Pure facts from the mans mouth. He never denounced any of his racist rants. Not difficult for anyone other than the ignorant on both sides of the isle.Human beings reap what they sow.Hard to put a racist hate monger on a pedestal to me.First slave owner in America was a black man.Yet ALL whites are blamed for slavery. Many atrocities were heaped on black and white during those times.https://youtu.be/S1Y693cSF7E ...Only 1 side cannot for some reason pull themselves up by the bootstraps and move past it.Larry Elder should be held up as a beacon of hope imho.A straight shooter who i for one have taught my children to look up to as blacks.Never follow ''race hustlers''.Even Malcolm denounced his own racist ways before the "Dis-Honorable Elijah Muhammad'' had him murdered.

I sir, put no man on a pedestal. I was only trying to inform that the man had passed dude. I am well aware of the history of slavery, and that Africans sold their own into slavery. I also know about Ali's mongering. But, his twilight years, and the things that he did to help others, earned him my respect. I almost regret starting this thread, almost. But I do thank you for your input.

Know one like him, not just a champion Boxer, but a true showman, entertainer, gentleman with a big heart. Probably the most popular person in the world for long period.

In 1970 you could be in the most rural primitive parts of the world, and if you stopped to talk to the locals, they would almost always ask about Mohamed Ali, AKA Cassius Clay.

People that didn't even speak English knew "float like butterfly, sting like bee, Mohamed Ali" while holding there fist up.

No more of a racist than those that hated him. The reason he threw his original gold medal in the river. Those that called him n-word every chance they had. I know the man was far from perfect, we ALL are.
