Is this a high-performance system?
Yes. It features an Intel® 2.0 GHz Celeron® processor, 256MB of RAM, a 56K modem, 40GB hard drive, 10/100MB Ethernet and comes with Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition pre-loaded.

Its just another way for AOL to put a monolpy(sp) on there weak service. Thank god AOL is gone on my cpu in a few weeks... Hello COMCAST CABLE WOOT WOOT

It's better than my computer. Mine has a 9.29 GB hard drive, Pentium 3, 128 MB of ram, and Windows ME. My brother gave it to me and I've never had any problems with it except for Internet Explorer not working. That's why I use Mozilla. Does anyone know of any cheap places to buy a bigger hard drive for my computer?

i'll be honest...leave it the way it is and just save up for a whole new tower. it will be the better route to go in the long run.

He's right, you won't want to upgrade JUST the hard-drive. I'm sure the transfer rate is too slow and interface is very old so you will be paying out the ass for a hd for that old pc, and when you do get a new pc, you will need to get a new HD then too... you will want an SATA or at least an IDE-133. I guarentee your old pc doesnt have either capabilities. just an fyi.

That computer isn't that good of a deal if you don't plan on using aol service because you pay for 2 years of service (~$20-30 month) bringing the total cost to around $800.00

I paid 800 for my computer from dell....8600 w/ a 3.2 ghz intel pentium 4 w/ HT, 80 gb HD, XP. I have 1.24 gb ram but i did that myself, not dell. Total money invested into computer, monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse is like 1300. Sounds to me like u get what u pay for from AOL....a PC that is only worthy of their service
