ok, so my choices are,

kicker cvx 12" getting 800rms

or

alpine type R 12 getting 500rms

both would be in a ported box

its for a daily driver, and im looking for it to be loud but also have decent SQ

from what ive heard the alpine gets plenty loud but lacks Sq, and the kicker gets loud and has decent sq

what would you choose out of those?

Why would it matter if it would WANT more power lol. Why is everybody on this kick that you have to put the max power to a sub for it to get any output lol. Honestly I haven't heard the cvx. BUT I have heard L7's and my type R KILLS every L7 I have heard. Granted I am in a custom 6th order bp. I had a guy hear mine the other night. Sorry this is the only reference point I can give. But he said my 12 is as loud as his two kicker cvx 15's in the custom ported box in his explorer with 2000 watts. And I have about 500 to 600 on my 12 (now again nice box ) But from all things I have heard the TYPE R's ported done correctly are insane
