The Beer Thread

I had Heineken for the first time last night. It wasn't terrible, but I wasn't overly impressed either, I can't see myself ever buying it. The other beers we had were Newcastle, Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss and 2 micro brews. Overall a good mix of beers for a winter night and New Year's night.

So, lets kick this up since we are in spring and approaching summer and the summer seasonals are back on the shelves.

I have really been enjoying Bell's Oberon lately, I love this stuff, one of my favorites. I have also been drinking a lot of Landshark, even though it isn't a seasonal it tastes great in the summer.

I miss not being able to go to any bar/club/gas station in town and pick up some Shiner Bock. kentucky sucks.
Try coming to MN... I've seen one former gas station that sells 3.2, otherwise the only place to get anything is a liquor store and that is before 10:00 PM and nothing on Sunday.

Anyone ever have Samuel Adam's Utopia? I'm curious to know if it's worth the ~$100 for a 24 oz.
is that the 23 or 27 % beer? I make some 14-18 takes a while to age so it does not taste like poo. but I don't like to drink alcohol is poisonous.
