Thankyou Soundigital

I don't think you guys understand. Lets put the back story in here: daily amp is a US Amps MD3D and sub is a Mach5 SPL12. For daily listening this is MORE than enough. We held a 2X DbDrag event and did some testing:

1. overall load with box rise was 3.8x ohms

2. amplifier at this load only delivering 1100 wrms - NO power at that load

So murilo borrowed him his tester SD3000 to bring the score up. All else being equal it got him to his final score. That SD3000 will be returned to daily duty in murilo's trailblazer today.

So in summary:

1. yes - we're well aware that there's not enough electrical behind this amp

2. the US Amps amplifier is being returned to active duty

3. we had fun at the db drag and no SD3000's were hurt in the making of this score

You guys gotta lighten up...this one was just for a number. We're also the hands behind Murilo's TeamSD van - WELL AWARE of whats necessary to make things work with SD amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Thanks for understanding

Thanks for the story.Maybe he should have said it was a loaner in the first place and he wouldn't have gotten the flamage he did.

However he does contradict himself later on and said it was cutting out at 10v's?

i never said it was cutting out at 7 volts to begin with. the SD amps low voltaga protection cuts in at 9.99 V

ALSO post #7 states that this is a temp setup for a weekend show and that im going back to my daily setup on the monday!. i state this agine in post #18. people dont take the time to read and are quick for flame! you know what the makes them, thats right, flammers. JK

I believe they run down to 7.5 v before they cut out.At least that is what Murilo has said before.

That is why I assumed you dipped to the 7's.If you didn't then more to you,Im just going by the specs.

No disrespect ment.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And as you can see I had post #2.

And as you can see I had post #2.
huh, when we were testing my set up, and the system shut down and i had a "WTF" look on my face, murilo told me that its probably goin into low volt prot and will reset its self in 5-10 secs. he then told me it shuts down at 10V. but all of this dosnt matter anymore as the amp is no longer in my truck

box builder extraordinair- and never broke a 40 in a truck w 1 sub??
yes casue i tune into the low 30s, however i did do a build with 4 10s that hit 147 in a 2000 S10. my S10 has always been hard to get loud in, and to be honest, im not a SPL guy. i like great sounding music and wood working! what kinda signle 12" set ups have you done that pull big numbers on stock elec systems. also 2 years ago i did a 140.1 with a RF punch power DVC and a 800watt 4ch amp

yea once you start getting real power you will see that with just a dect box u can acheive decent scores. power is very crucial to every install. it should be like this ALT BAtts than amp

For just throwing in the amp it looks pretty secure.
im, not gonna have someone else equipment flying all over the place in my dialy driver. do you realythink i still have this amp in my truck. i much perfer my MD3D as it sounds alot better. i needed big power for 1 day, and i got it!

Yep, I don't know if I've ever seen an uglier box before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
yup, its ugly, but it works. i will admit this is the uglyest encoulusre ive ever built!

what were u trying to gain with that box?
well the box was engeinerd to have a tuneable vent. from 45-48hz as i knew my sweet spot was inbetween. so i played around wit the TL a bit and came up with this!
