Textbooks are a scam.

hell yea they are, there was this one book i didnt buy for a class and half way thru the teacher argued w/ me that if i didnt buy one she was going to kick me out...but we never used the **** thing! i said no, met this chic that had the same class and she let me borrow her book...........but yea my gf bought like 3 books that she never even used and what sucked is that it was the kind they wouldnt let u return

I spent at LEAST $500 a semester on books, and the most I ever got back was $100.

My last semester I spent $700, and only got $50 back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif To add insult to injury, I had to buy an entrepreneurship book brand new for $120, I used it twice, and then they didn't take it back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The worst is when they come out with "new editions" in which they may reword one sentance or change some pictures, then they won't take the "old" editions back.

I got mega pwnt pretty much every semester, but I was always too lazy to buy or sell them online.

the campus book store got me good. i payed 150 for a textbook and work book (both shrink wrapped together). i bought them after the deadline for returning them, and then found out the class had been canceled due to something or other.

I still had the receipt, but they would not refund me... because i came back to return them after the deadline. I BOUGHT THEM AFTER THE DEADLINE!!! WAS I SUPPOSED TO GO BACK IN TIME!?

They were in perfect condition, hadn't even removed the shrink wrap... i got boned because a class got canceled. i think they gave me 25 dollars for something they put back on the shelves and sold as new i'm sure.

It's ridiculous how they **** students. On top of that i couldn't get financial aid because my parents make too much money... even though i'm paying for everything myself.

Another thing that pisses me off..

My school had a customized version of three books needed for my English Comp II class. Each book just came out this semester.Costed a total of $100. Not one of the three book stores would take them back because "We don't take back customized versions."

What kind of bull is that? I guess they are going to make all the students next semester buy the same books again new like we had to.
